All work and no play, makes Black (Berry) a dull boy. Fighting the image that Blackberry are meant solely for corporate email, recent release of the Pearl, Curve and Bold are all part of the Blackberry’s mass acceptance game plan.

Blackberry it fits well with the corporate use scenario with IT admins being able to control which third party applications get installed. The platform is really secure it protects the data between smart phones and email.

The RIM BlackBerry Curve 8900 is one of the best smart phones in the market .The device has spiffy new OS and pixel-packed screen, loads of e-mail support and great calling features, and some niceties thrown in by T-Mobile, including UMA for cheap Wi-Fi calls and extra IM clients onboard.

Lenovo S10: Smart addition to the netbooks segment.

Published by diksha under Uncategorized Edit This

Recently the Lenovo Company delivered slim ultraportable such as the ThinkPad. X200 and Idea Pad U110.The basic design of S10 holds no surprise it is much like Dell Inspiron Mini 9, the S10 looks and feels solid the typical “Lenovo”. With the semi glossy ivory finish and the matte steel finish hinges, the s10 looks very classy and minimalistic making some of the other 10inch netbook look almost big and bulky in comparison.
The clean lines make us think down of Mac Book and the blue status lights and colour coordinated wire mesh cover for the speaker makes the look of Lenovo far more future.S10 keyboard is more spacious and comfortable then that found on most 9inch netbook.
Model come with a 5400-rpm, 160GB platter-based hard disk more than enough storage to accommodate Windows XP Home and the unit’s minimal preinstalled software. The hard drive, though, is the most likely reason the S10 weighs a somewhat hefty 3.6 pounds–almost as much as a ThinkPad X200.
Faster than its mini-notebook brethren, the Lenovo S10 offers enough perks to make it a top pick for serious mobility. Regrettably, the mouse buttons are the clacky, tacky type; each button sinks too much and feels a little too loose
The S10’s speaker fares no better than those on most mini-notebooks. It delivers poor quality sound that’s hardly perceptible since the maximum audio setting is fairly low. That’s a slight dissatisfaction since this model’s sizable hard drive and satisfactory screen make it a good potential video and music player.
Lenovo provides a bloat-free machine, and for supplying a handy recovery application, Cyber link One Key Recovery 6.0. That app allows you to create backups, as well as to set partitions and restore points a more flexible backup option than simply restoring the PC to factory-fresh condition. It’s a nice touch, and it’s a nod to ThinkPad loyalists, who might consider it a “lite” version of the Think Vantage button. If we are looking for a big, beefy hard drive and surprisingly sprightly performance from a mini-notebook, the Idea Pad S10 is a solid pick.

Apple iPhone 3G (16GB, black): Revolutionized model

Published by diksha under Uncategorized Edit This

High-speed 3G networks Aare supported by the Apple iPhone 3G, third-party applications, and expanded e-mail. Its deliver an excellent music and video experience.

The iTunes App Store is pretty amazing though the battery depletes fast but the iPhone 3G is a big improvement over the original model.

Apple MacOS X; Band / mode: WCDMA (UMTS) / GSM 850/900/1800/1900; Wireless connectivity: Bluetooth 2.0 are the operating system supported but this iphone.

The iPhone 3Ghas undergone minor changes–the silver rim is thinner and the silver mesh behind the speaker–are so minimal. Apple has replaced the aluminum silver back with a plastic face in either white or black. The black version (our review model) is attractive.

The edges of iPhone 3G’s are slightly tapered to accommodate the curved back, making the device thinner. Unfortunately, the curved back makes the iPhone 3G shake slightly The phone’s height and width measurements (5.5 inches by 2.4 inches) it weighs just a tiny bit less (4.7 ounces versus 4.8 ounces).

At 3.5 inches and 480×320 pixels, displays slightly more dots per inch (163 vs.160), and still cranks out brilliant colors, sharp graphics, and fluid movements: A Contacts icon takes you directly to your phone book, and the App Store icon opens the iTunes App Store.

The iPhone’s 3G controls reveal a few changes .The Home button is below the display, while the volume rocker and ringer mute switch rest on the left spine. The Power/sleep button rests on top of the phone in its normal position. All controls are now silver instead of black, and Apple now includes a SIM removal tool in the box. The bottom of the iPhone houses the speaker, the microphone, and the charger port. the iPhone 3G’s 3.5mm headset jack now sits flush with the surface of the phone allowing you to use any 3.5mm headset you like’

The iPhone will sync Outlook e-mail, contacts, and calendar as soon as we are ready to go. Wi-Fi makes e-mail syncing. The iPhone register new messages as soon as it comes. When a large number of messages come at one time it seemed to bog down in that case, we had to update the phone manually, but even then the connection could freeze. If the iPhone loses its Wi-Fi connection, the syncing is interrupted even if the phone has 3G service. The Syncing via 3G was just as quick. If the 3G connection is shaky, it will take longer.

The iPhone 3G supports Apple’s new MobileMe service, which synchronizes from Mac’s Mail, Address Book, and iCal applications: contacts, calendar appointments, e-mail messages, photos, and browser bookmarks. One advantage of MobileMe is that it allows us to sync personal and work calendars, and contacts.

AT&T’s wireless UMTS/HSDPA wireless broadband is supported by iPhone 3G’s Web-surfing speeds over the 2.5G EDGE network Safari consistently delivered speeds of about 300Kbps to 500Kbps and even faster at times in our tests. That’s a huge jump over the typical EDGE speeds of less than 100Kbps.

The iPhone’s tri-band (850/1900/2100) UMTS/HSDPA support will deliver 3G coverage around the world. One final point is that 3G will suck juice from your phone, so you should consider switching it off when we are not using it. At that point, the handset will default to EDGE.

Palm Pre: Stiffest competition for iphone

Published by diksha under Uncategorized Edit This

The thing that brings Pre to light is the user interface and OS. It’s beautiful and smooth. The multitasking has become easy by the use of smart phone with the Deck of Cards feature that lets us scroll through various applications and toggle between them without having to open and close windows. Synergy is a huge player, as it brings all our e-mail accounts and contact and calendar information from various sources into one place.
It has got a multitouch screen that’s absolutely sharp and brilliant in color with its half-VGA (320×480) resolution. There’s a gesture area right below the display where we can use finger swipes and touches to launch menus, toolbars, applications, go back, or advance. Of course, favorite part might be the slide-out full QWERTY keyboard.
Like the iphone it is easy to zoom in and out of pages. The Pre’s browser is pretty outstanding. It renders sites onscreen as we would see on our desktop, and quickly at that. We do know that there will be an app store, and Palm will release an SDK to developers. The Palm Web OS was built with developers in mind and based on HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
The Palm Pre offers a 3-megapixel camera. In terms of music, like the T-Mobile G1, Palm has partnered with the Amazon Music Store, so you will be able to purchase songs over the air from your Pre.
The Pre offers integrated Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 (with support for stereo Bluetooth), EV-DO Rev. A, and GPS. There’s 8GB of storage, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and high-speed USB 2.0.
The Palm Pre and Palm Web OS bring a fresh look into the way we interact with a device and how it organizes information. It also brings modernization and life back to the struggling company and has certainly set the tech world abuzz.
As much as the Pre is important to Palm, the smart phone will also be a key player for Sprint. It needs an iconic phone to compete with the like’s AT&T and the iPhone and Verizon Wireless and the BlackBerry Storm, and Pre could certainly be the one to do this for Sprint. The Pre will be priced competitively with the iPhone and Storm. The Palm Pre could truly be the stiffest competition for the iPhone
