Gateway MD7801u : Perfect laptop at affordable rate

Published by diksha under Uncategorized Edit This

It can be slightly misleading for calling the all new Gateway MD7801u, a perfect laptop at affordable rate, to be a budget version of MC7803u, even though both of them are priced below $1,000. Both their frames have been designed beautifully, supplemented with ample features and offer satisfactory performance. Although the more recent MD7801 lacks some features, the lowered price makes it an adequate choice for you.
Gateway MD7801u has been designed using automobile styling. Its shiny black lid has been accented with steel strip, which runs straight down the middle, making your notebook look classy. Acer Aspire 6930G-6723, available at a similar range, has a basic design and an unembellished glossy cover. The Gateway MD7801u weighs 6.7 pounds, which is exactly a pound less than its predecessor is. The reason behind this lightness is twofold: The 15.6? widescreen is quite small when compared to 16-inch display
Although the screen in MD7801u lacks the clean glass look, the size and brightness available are perfect for every multimedia enthusiast. The 1366×768 resolution of the laptop is consistent with 16:9 aspect ratio, which is quite common in most latest consumer HDTVs.
Gateway MD7801u is without the illuminated keyboard of MC7803u. Although this doesn’t put a blemish on the model, its presence comes in handy during flights and poorly-lit rooms. Its full-size keyboard is very much similar to the one in Dell 16. The keys have been packed together and grooves in between them are less discernable than most other popular models in the market today.
Battery Life of the model is where Gateway MD7801u holds an edge over its predecessor. With 4 hours 17 minutes, MC7801u completely overpowers MD7803, which only delivers 2 hours 47 minutes after being unplugged and put on full load.

Sony VAIO VGN-P15G/Q/W/R/G: Small is beautiful

Published by diksha under Uncategorized Edit This

Sony VAIO P is unbelievably small it’s almost like a cross between a smart phone and a regular netbook, only more “oomphy” than both put together.VAIO P is not fragile and has got solid construction we can toss it into bag or shove it into back pocket.
It has got 8 inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1600*768 pixels. Websites and documents render very well on this resolution and there is a custom button allowing us to view two or more re sized browser side by side. The keyboard is extremely well designed it has got soft n springy keys.
Vista is still over the top of the hardware. This is not a machine for heavy Photoshop use. Sony outfits with the PS3 style Xross Media Bar.This is one of the beautiful pieces of kit.

Apple MacBook (Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M)

Published by diksha under Uncategorized Edit This

The major physical changes on the outside is an Nvidia chipset with improved integrated graphics, while the “unibody” aluminum chassis, the button less touch pad, and edge-to-edge glass on the LED-backlit display .
New MacBook models operate on a faster front-side bus, (from 800MHz to 1066MHz) and move from DDR2 memory to DDR3.
Though the new MacBook has slower base model CPU and fire wire is missing still it represents both an impressive value and an impressive feat of engineering although it’s hard to expect anything else from Apple’s flagship computer product, which has been a consistent favorite for several years.
The white-and-black bodies have been replaced with an aluminum chassis that looks nearly identical to the new MacBook Pro, only smaller. The result is a lighter and thinner, yet stronger, frame that feels more solid and substantial a notable feat.
Another notable new feature is a radically redesigned touch pad. In fact, the entire touch pad depresses like a button, although a simple tapping (as on a PC laptop) will also work once we turn that option on in the settings menu.
Some of the new features are it can hide all apps by sweeping four fingers up on the pad, and can also designate one corner of the touch pad as a “right-click” zone. Most useful, perhaps, is sweeping four fingers left or right, which brings up the application switcher. Once we get used to it, going back to a regular touch pad would be difficult.
Apple has also added LED-backlit displays which means a thinner lid and some battery life benefits, plus the edge-to-edge glass we’re seeing more often on multimedia systems, such as the HP HDX18. The glass, however, also grabs stray light rays with ease, making the glossy screen seem that much glossier a problem if you prefer matte screen finishes.
With only two USB 2.0 ports and no more FireWire, the new MacBook isn’t exactly brimming with connections an Express Card slot and an SD-card reader the two most desire things are yet to come true, so photographers may be disappointed.
The new MacBook and its 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo CPU performed comparably to its predecessor, which is to say that basic multitasking and productivity is a breeze, as is streaming and viewing HD-video content. While the hardware is largely similar, MacBooks score better on our Multitasking test than similarly configured Windows laptops (such as the Dell Studio 15), thanks in part to the efficiency of the Mac operating system.

HP Pavilion dv3510nr: One of the first two Best Buy Blue Label laptops

Published by diksha under Uncategorized Edit This

The HP Pavilion dv3510nr is one of the first two Best Buy Blue Label laptops. The customer desire a laptop with a longer battery life, a thin and lightweight design, The HP Pavilion dv3510nr supports all these points, and it looks good doing it.

HP Pavilion dv4-1125nr, which is a stripped down but slightly larger version of this Pavilion. It will do many of the things the Pavilion dv3510nr does and will save you $300. The Pavilion dv3510nr is the better all-around laptop with its superior design, better battery life, and longer list of features.

The Pavilion dv3510nr is the first 13-inch Pavilion, keyboard—is the same full-size unit as that on 14-inch Pavilion dv4 models. HP calls it bronze, but it looks like more of a taupe. Hitting the Function key and the space bar turn on the keyboard’s backlights, this is unique among Pavilion laptops. The touchpad features the familiar glossy coating of all recent Pavilions, which creates too much drag when trying to glide your finger across. The mouse buttons are soft, quiet, and responsive, however, and above the touchpad is a small, convenient on/off switch.

The backlit turned on keyboard will help typing in a dark room or airplane, and it looks like a natural fit with the lighted, touch-sensitive media control keys above it.The display itself is an LED-backlit LCD with a 1,280×800 resolution. It has a glossy coating that makes movies look vibrant and smooth, and it’s far from the worst offender when it comes to glare and reflection.LED backlights, makes the display very thin; helping the Pavilion dv3510nr strikes a sleek profile. Weighing just less than 5 pounds, however, the 13-inch Pavilion dv3510nr saves only about a quarter pound from the impressively svelte 14-inch Pavilion dv4-1125nr.

Altec Lansing speakers located above the keyboard produces the bigger sound in Pavilion dv4-1125nr. FireWire port is the only port missing from this laptop, which may be a deal breaker for those with camcorders and other FireWire devices. The dv4-11215nr has only 10/100 Ethernet.

The HP Pavilion dv3510nr is built on the Centrino 2 platform. The Pavilion dv3510nr is only 5 percent faster on our multitasking test, but enjoyed larger advantages on our Photoshop CS3 and iTunes benchmarks, where its faster CPU clock speed, faster front side bus (1066MHz vs. 800MHz), and its GeForce 9300M GS may have played a larger role in the outcome.

The Pavilion dv4-1125nr uses Intel’s current GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics .The Pavilion dv3510nr uses a standard 6-cell battery which run for 3 hours, 31 minutes on CNET Labs’ video playback battery drain test. The Pavilion dv3510nr’s battery is rated at 55 watt hours (Whr) to the dv4-1125nr’s 47Whr.The dv3510nr has a more energy-efficient LED-backlit screen. Together, the superior screen technology and the higher Whr rating on its battery helped the dv3510nr run longer.
